Campaign 3 Fics
Sorted by Rating
General
- a small story - Gen - Sometimes Orym let himself feel small.
- Between the Lines - Orym/Dorian Storm; Laudna/Imogen Temult - Imogen offers an apology and some of her own perspective over dinner.
- Blue is the color of desire - Orym/Dorian Storm - Flowers were culturally significant to the Air Ashari, but Orym had never been one for these things. He still had a favourite though, a favourite flower and meaning. It almost hurt when upon meeting Dorian Storm, he was just as blue as those flowers were.
- Day One: Omelet - Gen - It started as a quest for a cup of tea. Then became an utter failure to make an omelet. Ashton, of course, was no help at all. (Little team-as-family oneshot, set sometime after episode 7, minor spoiler for that episode)
- don't worry 'bout the weather (we're setting off together) - Orym/Dorian Storm/Fearne Calloway - Orym chokes on a laugh, finally freeing himself of his pauldron and setting to work on the breastplate. “I guess. He’s got a pretty good backswing for an old-timer.”
“Mm, when it’s aimed at the right people. Do you trust them?”
“Who? Bertrand?”
“The others,” Fearne turns to look at him properly. “All of them,”
(Orym, and the conversations with the people he loves after the disastrous mission at the Weary Way.)
- The Gifts She Gives (and the One She Recieves) - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - Six gifts Fearne steals for Dorian and Orym, and one gift they buy for her.
- heels on - Gen - "High heels do look good on you.”
Orym tries on high heels.
- Hold Me Until the Sunlight Streams In - Gen - After their midnight search for Bertrand Bell, the five exhausted adventurers find a moment of rest and security with one another.
- Just Little Old Me in a Big, Big World - Keyleth/Vax'ildan; Percival de Rolo/Vex'ahlia; Orym/Will - Following the conversations about the De Rolos, Orym finds himself remembering the memories he's not willing to share. He's not Bertrand, he'll keep his meetings with the Lord and Lady of Whitestone quiet. He just can't help but remember how they had once helped him. AKA: Keyleth stepped up to help a newly out young guard in her service decades ago and went above and beyond to try and help another trans member of the Ashari
- Ribbons and Poison Blossom - Gen - On the skyship over to Jrusar, Fearne injures her arm. In helping her out, Orym gets the delight of figuring out how her clothes go together.
Aka: how the fuck does Fearne's outfit work, an exploration (non-sexy)
- put me back on evenly - Orym/Dorian Storm - “Yes, you were reckless, and stupid, and you and Laudna and Ashton were all running around down there like you were racing to see who could die the fastest. But... at least you were doing something.” Orym’s eyes feel like needlepoints on the side of his face. He seems to consider his words carefully before asking, voice low, “This isn’t just about the fight, is it?” The laugh Dorian lets out in response isn’t a pleasant one.
- The Wayfarer - Gen - In the middle of a bad storm, Fearne and Orym talk about what comes next.
- won't find out until we grow - Laudna/Imogen Temult - Laudna’s like the lakeweeds, thin and horrifying until you realize it’s just grass. Nothing to pull you under.
Teen and Up
- Bound to Happen Eventually - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym prides himself on his ability to remain calm while everyone freaks out around him, but the things he has seen were bound to catch up to him eventually. When the nightmares come, Fearne and Dorian are by his side to help him through it.
- but all at once - Gen - Everything that once was clear washes out dark now. It’s his fault. He feels something inside him break. They've ruined all of it.
“Who? The fuck? Do you think you are? Getting into all of this,” Ashton feels themself spit suddenly, teeth bared, “You think you understand? You think you can fix this?”
- The Changeling - Orym/Fearne Calloway - Looking down at Fearne with her clear-eyed stare, her grandmother asks, “You like him?”
“I do. May I have him?”
“So it shall be."
Orym is brought to the courts of the fey to fulfill a bargain his father made.
- don't hold your breath - Gen - Orym has some trouble falling asleep in Lord Eshteross's spare room after the party's loss. He's not the only one struggling.
- Fear is the Heart of Love - Orym/Dorian Storm - Fear felt like hopelessness, like admitting he had no way to push forward. Fear made him feel small in a way that his stature never did.
“Well, that’s okay, too.” Fearne’s words cut through the quiet of the dark room, and Orym felt his heart stutter at their certainty. “It’s okay to be afraid. It’s good, even.”
Orym couldn’t stop the small breath of a laugh, nothing but utter disbelief at the words. “How is fear good, Fearne?”
“Well,” she said slowly, considering her words in that way so unique to her, as she always did just before she said something truly amazing and utterly her. “Sometimes… Sometimes it’s good to be scared, because it means you still have something to lose.”
Orym and Dorian learn that, in some ways, fear and love go hand-in-hand — but that doesn't mean that it isn't worth it.
- Is It February Yet? - Gen - Welcome to Febuwhump 2022! 28 days of pain and suffering, for your reading pleasure! Stories will span all three main campaigns plus the animated series, and will generally be focused on the friendship/found family relationships (I'm not much of a shipper).
- Let Me Fill Your Cup; Let it Overflow with the Promise of Tomorrow - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - In the aftermath of the confrontation at the Weary Way Tavern, Dorian, Orym, and Fearne share an intimate moment together.
- the morning after - Gen - “Why are you wearing my skirt?”
Dorian wakes up after a night of heavy drinking with his friends.
- No Debts Between Us - Orym/Dorian Storm - Five times that Orym took the hit for Dorian, and one time he didn't.
- pour another finger out or maybe two - Laudna/Imogen Temult - "Stay…" The smaller woman whispers into Laudna's shoulder as she clings closer.
How can I say no?
"You can't," Imogen mumbles in reply, snuggling closer.
"Always in my head."
"It's nice here, safe. Warm."
- The Promise of Later - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym’s eyes closed of their own accord, and he allowed his body to take over and felt himself relax with Dorian’s hands running through his short hair gently. He vows to stay awake until Fearne is safely back in their room, though he can feel himself dozing almost immediately.Orym’s not sure when he became so used to listening to Dorian’s heartbeat next to his ear, Fearne’s quiet sleepy muttering, and Little Mister’s snores, but at some point something in him intrinsically shifted to incorporate these people in his life. When Fearne returns a short time later, she finds her friends cuddled together, places the food she brought on the table in their room, and gently joins them on the bed. With their trio complete and the promise of fixing things later, Orym falls soundly asleep next to his companions.
- reeling through the midnight streets - Laudna/Imogen Temult - “You’ll watch me bleed out, Laud?” “Every last crimson drop.”
It's late. Bertrand's dead. And Imogen just wants to be Laudna's girl.
- Rooftop Rondevous - Orym/Dorian Storm - Dorian paused for a moment. “Do you think they can see us from up here?” Orym looked over at him, a questioning look on his face but intrigue in his eye. “I mean, we are pretty high up. If we weren’t so close to the edge, no one could probably see a thing unless they were on a surrounding rooftop.
“Getting ideas for later, Storm?”
Cute missing scene with Dorian and Orym on the roof of the Dreamscape Theater. Just cute boys being cute.
- Room for Another - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - “Just keep your thoughts concealed around Imogen. She’s a sweet girl but you can never be too careful.” Fearne pipes up from across the room.
“Maybe I want her in my head.” Dorian replies with a chuckle, shooting a mischievous look in Fearne’s direction.
“Oh?” Fearne replies as she brushes out her long green locks. She sets the brush down and joins the men next to the bed, looking down at Orym with a smirk. “Seems we have competition.”
- significant annoyance - Ashton Greymoore/Dorian Storm - “You live to annoy me, don’t you?”
Ashton keeps pulling Dorian's metaphorical pigtails.
- Song of Rest - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym is wrecked from the events of C3E3. Dorian takes care of him. Some things are said, but many things are left unsaid.
- Staring out an open window, catching my death - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym gazes out windows to steady himself. Sometimes he has to use his friends instead. Or: Hand aching from the force of his grip on the sending stone, Orym gets sentimental about quiet moments with Dorian.
- The Stranger - Fearne Calloway/Orym - The pact with the fey was simple: Orym’s life was the price of his father’s power.
The things he was meant to be, the comfort of his mother’s arms, the dreams of his life in Zephrah, his love for a boy with smiling golden eyes and black curls that frothed like gathered lace down his back.
Not his death, his life.
Orym goes home.
- We can pretend none of this happened - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym realises, belatedly, that maybe drinking after getting poisoned had been a bad idea. When it comes back to bite him in the ass, Dorian and Fearne take care of him. (But mostly Dorian, because Fearne recently got knocked out and is tired as hell.)
- wonderfully creative thinking - Ashton Greymoore/Dorian Storm - The words are out before he could think of anything else to say otherwise. Tossed off almost as an afterthought in the dim glow of Imogen’s dancing lights, casting a pallid sheen over the slime on the floor, and the walls, and the ceiling.
“That was wonderfully creative thinking.”
In which Ashton is equal turns intrigued and irritated.
Mature
- breaking if I try to convey it - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - Fearne and Dorian both smiled, instantly at ease. It was a strange power to wield, as small in its way as druidcraft, and he still wasn’t sure he liked having influence over their peace of mind. “This is nice, isn’t it?” Fearne said, perching on the edge of the bed. “We really should share a room, even if Sir Bertrand keeps paying.” Dorian’s nod was quick and eager. “Depending on how long this contract lasts, we could go in on a townhouse.”Orym didn’t have much use for gold. He recognized, when he took Lord Eshteross’s payment that night, that it should have felt dear to him, but it didn’t. The most useful thing gold had ever gotten him was Gilmore’s enchantments on his shield. The worthier metals were the kind that could tarnish, could be tempered in fire, and could withstand the effort of polishing them up again. He had discovered, these last few months, that people were much the same.
- Now Begin Again - Orym/Dorian Storm - A routine evening goes catastrophically wrong. Orym wakes up with another chance to get it right, if he can figure out how.
Explicit
- I can live today (if you give me tomorrow) - Orym/Dorian Storm - Dorian set out in hope of daring adventures, whirlwind romances that end with wistful farewells as he flowed easily from one thing to the next. It’s a little funny that he got the adventure and fell ass over tea kettle in love with the first competent halfling warrior he met. Not that Orym has noticed.
- might as well try to stop the sun from rising - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - Just because Orym can take the hit doesn't mean the others have to like seeing it.
- Release - Ashton Greymoore/Orym - Orym and Ashton find comfort and release after the challenges they encounter in Jrusar.
Or: A truly unnecessary amount of Ashrym smut.
- throwing stones at a glass moon - Ashton Greymoore/Orym - Ashton grabs his wrists to pull him up and Orym goes willingly. “I’ll take that bet.” And isn’t that kind of the problem?
- time and too much don't belong together like we do - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - They could do what they did on the road.
- Unwound - Ashton Greymoore/Orym - This isn’t really Orym’s thing. This is a distraction, an unnecessary indulgence of his own wants when he – when all three of them – have a job to do. They’ll run with Bell’s crew until they figure out their next step, and then they’ll move on.
So why not indulge now? It can’t be worse than eating his entire body weight in pie.
- we could break a silver lining - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym told Dorian that they didn't know what the future would be and he was right. The irony is Orym doesn’t know what his past is, either.
- where you could taste heaven perfectly - Orym/Dorian Storm - It's Orym’s first and only night in Emon. What harm is there in enjoying it?
- You and Me and Our Little Corner of the World - Fearne Calloway/Orym/Dorian Storm - Dorian, Fearne, and Orym take the next step in their relationship together.
- You can look if you want - Orym/Dorian Storm - Orym sleeps shirtless. Dorian is stuck on an airship with him and is not coping. Fearne gives him a little push in the right direction.
